Welcomingwalks: Utah Lake

We know Utah lake gets a bad rap. It smells, it has toxic algae and there are bugs everywhere. But if you look past all that, and check out the walking trail by the water's edge housing devolpment, you may be surprised how pretty Utah lake can be. And the best part is, it's free! Info on how to get there: A small gravel parking lot is located next to Vineyard Beach, on Vineyard road. There is a bit of construction around the area, so it may be a bit hard to get there. If you have not hit a road right along the beach, then you have not yet made it. There will be points where you think the road has ended, but keep on going, the road turns and plops you right on the lake Time needed and type of trail: 15-60 minutes, it is a short path, but can extend pretty far if you want it to.  Most of the views are around the beach. It is all flat and paved, next to a road.

Welcomingwalks: About

With trails that involve traversing desert landscapes, clinging on to a chain for dear life or trudging uphill for 5 hours just to see a waterfall, hiking in Utah can be well, exhausting. But never fear! With paved trails around lakes, hidden parks in urban area and flat hikes to incredible vistas, experiencing nature in Utah doesn't have to be all about intensity.  @welcomingwalks  is here to showcase those areas where 30 minutes of time and flip flops are welcome additions to a walk, while still getting to see what makes this state beautiful!

Some Songs: Sunshine in the Shade

Just a little song I made fiddling around on the computer.

Amateur Animation: Print Error

For this one I really tried to push myself and create a story. I used sound, sketching and went out of my comfort zone with my (limited) artist abilities. Is it perfect, no, are there things I noticed after watching it once, of course, but part of learning is to just accept that we can't be perfect and sometimes, good enough is good enough. Amateur Animation: Sound Style

Image
In this video I tried adding a bit of sound to "Style". I am using the "toons" sound pack form FlipaClip. I have had some experience with sounds from video editing, so this was more of a proof of concept for me.

Amateur Animation: Style

In this attempt I tried sketching out my drawing first, and I used a stylus. I learned a few things. 1) Sketching does help, but you have to follow it! 2) It is not important to keep lines straight, as much as it is to keep them consistent. 3) Motion is good, but too much is bad, I need to copy and paste at least some elements in a frame-by-frame animation.

Amateur Animation: College Try

For this one I tried out two things. I tried using the copy and paste function and experimented with color.
